Since its humble beginnings in 1969 with just 23 artists and 13,000 guests, An Occasion for the Arts has blossomed into a vibrant cultural event. Over the years, we have continued to evolve and grow, showcasing the talent of artists from across the nation.

Not only do we provide a platform for established artists, but we are equally committed to nurturing young talent. We proudly collaborate with the Williamsburg Contemporary Art Center to showcase the work of talented young artists, providing them with a space to exhibit their creativity.

Our event is not just about visual art; it's also a celebration of music and performance. Throughout the two or three days of our show, you can enjoy lively performances on our stages and savor the flavors of fall at our popular food court.

An Occasion for the Arts has become a cornerstone of the Williamsburg community, and with the support of our dedicated Friends, sponsors, and supporters, we have established an endowment through the Williamsburg Community Foundation to further promote the arts in our region.
